Why stay on a vineyard and not try the wine?

All our wines are truly ‘hand-made’ by us, with every stage of production carried out on-site. We have approximately 6 acres planted with vines and have converted part of an agricultural barn into a state of the art winery. We are passionate about our work and enjoy showing visitors what we do.

Our grape vines have been carefully chosen to suit the English climate and for the production of high quality sparkling wine, as well as a range of white, rose and hopefully one day, also red wines. Each year the specific blends and types will vary with the harvest and so we are building the range year on year.

The grapes are closely monitored as they ripen and are hand picked by friends and neighbours. This is the first stage of our quality control – ‘If you wouldn’t put it in your mouth then don’t put it in the picking crate’. They are then immediately transported to the winery for processing to ensure we retain all the freshness and fruity aromas intact.

Our state of the art, temperature controlled, 260 m2 winery went into production in 2008. The equipment includes a sophisticated pneumatic press, capable of the very gentle processing required to produce the highest quality juice, and modern variable capacity stainless steel tanks for controlled fermentation and storage.

Eastcott sparkling wines are made using the traditional method (Methode Champenoise). This requires two fermentations, the second taking place in the bottle. A long maturation period of many months is needed to allow the characteristic flavours to develop, transforming the wine from a very nice sparkling wine into something quite exceptional.

Cottage Guests receive a 5% discount on purchases during their stay.
